I’ve been thinking for a while how best to package my felted birds – something simple, good-looking,  eco-friendly, and of course budget-friendly.

After experimenting with nets for various boxes I came up with my own design for a bird-house box. Coloured card is all I have to start off, but I’d want to do it using brown recycled card – more eco-friendly and also would look more like wood!

But to make or to buy?!

Despite the drawbacks of making them myself (time, energy, imperfections, wine consumption whilst making), I would at least be able to make them to measure for each bird, make only as many as I need… and perhaps coerce the boyfriend and mother to help!

The design needs working on either way, so I will return to the scoring board 🙂
