Two wonderful friends of mine, Alice & Dan, got married this autumn, and I wanted to make them a really special personal gift.
From their beautiful wedding invitations I knew a bird-themed present would go down well so set about planning some sort of Dan & Alice themed needle felted love-bird creation. I even made miniature headphones for the ‘Dan’ bird. I could only go so far on my own though before I needed help. Nowhere on the internet could I find decent instructions on how to make a miniature veil for the ‘Alice’ bird!
I took to Twitter.
With the help of a total stranger (now I know her name, it’s Laura, aka @MadePeachy from madepeachy.com, and she is ACE) I made a mini bridal veil – she sent me these instructions to my specification along with a fool-proof step-by-step guide on how to make the perfect miniature veil!

I LOVE Twitter for this kind of thing. Total strangers to the rescue!! Here’s what the veil ended up looking like:

All I had left to do was collect some drift wood when I was back in the Homeland. Unfortunately it was soaking wet and it was the day before the wedding. My dad is a genius and suggested I dry it in the microwave which I did; and now with the house stinking like a fish mongers, I finished the mobile…
Just in the nick of time!

I do hope you liked it, Alice & Dan xxx
